TOWARDS A POST-REPRESENTATIONAL PRACTICE

8-18 July 2023, residency and students mentoring scheme at Artep Gallery, Iasi, Romania

And a 3 day event:

8 July 2023, Public lecture:

MICROPOLITICAL ECO-PEDAGOGIES TOWARDS A POST-REPRESENTATIONAL PRACTICE

Berit Fischer will share insights and reflections of her recent work that evolves around experiential knowledge formation that through processes of (re-)learning and empowerment seeks an ecological consciousness, that mobilises actions of care, regeneration, and de-colonisation from capitalist logics towards planetary stewardship and a response-able being-with the world.

How to create new synthesis in our technocratic times for a more inclusive and ‘cosmo-logical’ knowing? She will share examples and thoughts of her work on how to contribute to shape and nurture ecological inter-relations and inter-actions.

9 July 2023 affective encounter/ workshop:

FEMINIST INSTITUTING FOR ECOLOGICAL FUTURES

In today’s dystopian times of capitalist, extractivist, dichotomous and separationist logics, questions about alternative imaginaries for liveable futures and co-existence with the “more-than-human” world are more urgent than ever. Acknowledging “instituting” as a social ecology, as a collective agreement and cooperation, this affective encounter invites to engender a feminist ontology of “instituting” that exceeds the anthropocentric view towards an inter-connectivity with the natural living world. Moving beyond a critique that occurs on the level of representation, this collective experience draws on legacies of feminist and radical pedagogies, and consciousness raising techniques to radical attentiveness practices. It forwards and experiments with a transformative practice of re-activating the psycho-cognitive apparatus through intent forms of situated listening. We will explore a feminist “instituting” that embraces ambiguity, nurtures an embodied and collective thinking and mobilizes philosophical speculation.

10th July, group studio critique, followed by collective discursive cooking session:

IF WE LISTEN TO EACH OTHER, WE CAN ALL WIN! THINKING, DISCUSSING, COOKING AND EATING TOGETHER – A COLLECTIVE AND CONVIVIAL STUDIO CRITIQUE

In this convivial exchange we collectively will consider everyone’s practices, methodologies and thinking. It will be the opportunity for everyone to share a short presentation of one philosophical/theorectical/or methodological aspect of their work. Together we will observe what kind of key concerns have emerged within the group. Thereafter we will collectively create some food for thought and will discuss these key concerns within a discursive dinner setting.
